HOPE

Do you remember the days where the sky was the limit?

The day your teacher gave you that big golden star on your book and you believed you could have it all. Maybe when you won your first competition and your dad said to follow your dreams. Perhaps when you first kissed that girl and you thought she was the one.

Was it times like those that felt like you had Hope.

He grew up with hope too. He had goals just like any other. Dreams he thought were unique. He hopped on that plane and travelled to the city of his dreams. He planned out all his goals and set his foot out the door.

He ran out to achieve all his goals, knocked every door he thought could be an opportunity. It is said that reaching the top is easier but staying there is the real test. Sometimes the view up top is so mesmerising that you forget that you are slipping right back down with twice the pace it took you to reach the top.

So he Ran .

That is all he remembered. Running from the ones who betrayed him, running from the things that disappointed him, running from the love who promised him eternity, running from the lights that blinded him, running from the idea that he almost had it all. The possibility that he could have it all just because he Hoped for it.

Spiralling down is the easiest thing one can do. It is the comfort that darkness brings to a broken soul. The pit was just as deep as the top high he had been to. There was a similar sense of comfort in those depths. He could brood there as long as he wanted, as staying required the lack of one thing he once had… Hope

He sat there, thinking, regretting, analysing how How. How did he get here? Why did everyone leave. He wondered and that’s when he realised. Maybe it was him who left them all.

Was he blinded by the greed that he did not listen to the calls of warning, he could not see the teary eyes when he walked out the room every time, he could not hear the shattering of hearts when he put himself first? Was it really true that he was not the victim?

He looked up to search for answers, He looked up the depths from where he now resided. The lights seemed so far away. Would he ever be able to reach it? are they waiting for him, will they accept him again, will they … forgive him?

He needed answers. He needed to see the light. So once again he started to climb but this time he walked, he did not want to run. He wanted to feel every emotion. He walked and walked and walked with the one thing he thought he lost. He walked back with Hope.

  4. I believe hope is life.
Hope is single most imp factor propelling human life. You give up hope and you start dying mentally and eventually physically. And on the other hand a single hope can revive you towards life.
You have very well written Hope.
